The Student Publication Association Mentorship Scheme is returning. Find out how you can be a part of it!

The SPA Mentorship Scheme officially began in 2018, running again in 2019 before returning for another year in 2021. 

Each time it has been highly impactful, connecting students with professionals who are able to provide insightful expertise. 

That’s exactly why we are bringing it back. 

The lived experiences of our mentors provides the kind of knowledge that can bridge the gap between the perceptions and realities of their industries. 

By forging these connections, we hope to not only acknowledge the ever-changing landscape, but to create a living handbook that pools together various perspectives and understandings. 

If you feel like you have some form of wisdom to impart, or feel moved to lend a helping hand, then you might be the perfect mentor. 

We are not expecting anyone to be an expert, however we do ask that you have at least two years of professional experience under your belt.

Through this scheme, we aim to connect mentors with students whose ambitions and interests align with one another. 

We hope for this to lead to fruitful partnerships that will help students better their skills and gain insight, while allowing mentors to connect with and support young talent. 

Through monthly calls or in-person meetings, you will be able to guide your mentee through the processes of publishing, the art of the interview, or simply the correct way to email someone.
