How to perfect your Design process: A guide to utilising the best tools for print newspapers and magazines

As student journalists, we are championing a multi-media sphere; as student journalists, we must help keep print media alive. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to hold a physical copy of your publication for the first time in print.

However, most of us will be using software and creative platforms to design the pages of our publication for the first time. Understandably, it can seem quite intimidating, and you may not know where to start.

This guide aims to give you a strong foundation for where to begin. You will learn where to start with platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Canva, as well as how to establish a design process, and understand the do’s and don’ts of sending your publication to print.
